About the Artist

My name is James Unruh and I am a sophmore pschology student at the University of Colorado Boulder.  Although I lack formal training and education with art, my own unique perspective on the world can create something amazing. I love music and am obsessed with finding new artists that make me feel alive. I try to find the beauty in the small things, and interact with the world in a way that is self-fulfilling.

When I do create, I often find myself going over the fine details and making sure everything is perfect. I am an avid learner and am very excited to experiment and grow. My ability to collaborate with peers has brought many new ideas and perspectives to my art. I believe that collaboration is necessary when it comes to creation as the new ideas from different backgrounds are invaluable. I cannot create art unless I am passionate about what I am making. This means that finding the right inspiration and medium is crucial to me. My interest in digital art started when I realized the potential and distant boundries of the medium. I believe that my creativeness and ideas will be a perfect match for the ever so changing practice of digital art. I am very excited for the things that I have yet to create, and I am hoping to not only grow as an artist, but as a person. I hope to create something I am passionate and proud about, while also evoking emotion from the people who witness it.
