Going in to this project, I wanted to make a narrative zine that followed an original character. I quickly realized that I would rather put my efforts in creating something less story drivenh and more visual. I had a hard time landing on a specific theme for my project, but it wasn't until after messing around with animals in weird locations when I realized that the theme was right in front of me. My idea changed throughout the creation process but in the end I had made images that depicted farm animals in place of humans in various normal and absurd locatations. I wanted to stress the absurdity of this idea, and even went as far as adding human made objects such as hats and instruments to the animals actions. This idea only covers half of the project. The other half you may notice, is a collection of farm animals depicted in an interesting way. On one half of the animal, is relatively normal to what we know farm animals as. There may be slight changes, but everyone will still be able to recognize it as a somewhat realistic depiction of farm animals. On the other half of the image, I tried to create some surreal illustrations of the animals. This was meant for the viewer to take a double take on the image and question what is real and what is not. In the end, I feel proud of the work that I did. I had a few issues with time managment and had to reallign my ambition at time but I am happy with the finish product.
